Chillon Castle Foundation
Created in 2002, the Chillon Castle Foundation offers a highly varied agenda of cultural and winetouristic events.
Seeming to float on Lake Geneva, Chillon Castle truly fascinates the public. Its vineyard of 12,000 sq.m. called “Clos de Chillon” holds the protected designation of origin of Lavaux (AOC Lavaux). This is the very last vineyard on the geographical map participating in this reputed wine designation.
The fortress has accommodated cellar and wine press for centuries. Its white wines come from Chasselas grapes and its red ones from an assemblage of Gamaret, Garanoir and Merlot. Produced in partnership with “Badoux Vins”, these wines can be bought exclusively online via the dedicated website and at the castle's shop. Some bottles are even kept for three years in the lake at a depth of 30 m depth in a cage moored to the rock.
“Verrée Vaudoise” is a space dedicated to tasting the wines of the Castle. It welcomes groups and individual visitors who have previously visited the fortress. The dozen winetouristic activities combine the discovery of wine, working the vineyard, bottling, exhibitions and tastings in a medieval setting. The tour given by a guide in medieval dress will delight lovers of history!
Countless specially equipped rooms and spaces welcome seminars, weddings, banquets or evening buffets. Offering capacity for 230 guests, “Aula Magna” is the only room available during the day. A panel of caterers with various service offers will meet all budget requirements.
