La Videmanette Via Ferrata, Route 1

Discover via ferrata climbing on an easy route leading to the summit of the Rübli.

Combining alpine hiking with secured climbing, the La Videmanette via ferrata offers an exciting way to explore the mountains above Rougemont. The La Videmanette area is a popular destination for mountain enthusiasts throughout the year.

Route 1 is the easiest via ferrata in the area and is ideal for a first experience. Suitable for beginners and families with children aged 10 and over, the route features more hiking than climbing, making it accessible while still offering a sense of adventure. Along the way, you will encounter several short climbing sections, including a chimney passage.

The starting point is located approximately five minutes on foot from the top station of the Rougemont-La Videmanette cable car. After the equipped sections, the final stretch to the summit of the Rübli (2,285 m) is completed on foot. At the top, a magnificent panorama awaits, with sweeping views over the Alps and the Pays-d’Enhaut.

The ascent and descent follow the same route.
