Aigle – Leysin Train

To turn a journey into a real experience, leave the car at home. All aboard the cog train for the journey up to Leysin.

Once it leaves the valley, Chablais’s Public Transport Aigle - Leysin line winds its way up through the renowned vineyards of Aigle and steep mountain forests before arriving at its destination perched at an altitude of 1450 m.

All the magic of this traditional Aigle-Leysin cog train unfolds as the seasons change. Lush greens or rich autumnal russets decorate the vista of the train’s huge picture window, inspiring lighthearted daydreams for the passenger. With any luck, you may even spot a deer or a stag near the traintracks.

This direct line from the valley to the mountains and its regular timetable throughout the day makes it a real bonus for anyone starting their holiday in Leysin as they can forget all the usual stress of road travel.
