Discovery Hike - Nature

This hike will take you through the Grèves de la Motte and Grande Cariçaie nature reserves.

The hike begins in the center of Chabrey and first heads to the Grèves de la Motte nature reserve, located at the edge of the cliff. The view is well worth the detour. Then comes the descent—which can be slippery if it has rained—toward the shores of Lake Neuchâtel and the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve.

 This is the largest lake-side marsh in Switzerland. It is home to about a quarter of the country’s flora and fauna. You’ll have plenty of time to observe the wildlife along the trail leading to Portalban.

 The trail climbs again on the heights of Delley before reaching the playground, complete with a slide and a barbecue area. If you feel like it, extend the hike through the Bois de Charmontel before returning to the center of Chabrey.
