Recently renovated, the Les Avants – Sonloup funicular has the special feature of having kept its carriages and machinery from the good old times.

In the twentieth century, the Les Avants region was a well-regarded winter resort. The funicular railway is still used to access the sledge slopes in winter – and has also become a popular way to reach hiking trails in the summer. Its distinctive, historic red coaches gleam amid the pastoral landscape of Les Avants as a timeless reminder of Swiss excellence in mountain transport.
