House of the River
From 01 Nov To 31 Oct 2026The House of the River teaches the public all about the wonder but also the fragility of ecosystems.
Visiting the centre is an opportunity to explore the history of landscapes shaped by water and the abundant biodiversity it strives to protect. Nestled on the shores of Lake Geneva and next to the Boiron River, La Maison de la Rivière combines scientific research, environmental education and fun, interactive exhibitions for the whole family. This unique place is a window onto the region's natural and cultural heritage and contemporary scientific challenges.
Museum and exhibitions
The museum and its exhibitions offer an immersive experience of local nature and culture through interactive displays. Visitors can discover the F.-A. Forel submarine, aquariums and ponds, and marvel at the connection between humans and nature. The Genton collection, with nearly 400 stuffed vertebrates, illustrates the richness of the local fauna.
Educational activities
On the programme: temporary exhibitions, events, educational trails such as the Sentier de la Truite (Trout Trail), as well as the famous and highly popular educational and fun activities, ideal for birthday parties.
Café and shop
The café offers seasonal, local and often organic cuisine. In the shop, books, educational games and soft toys spark the curiosity of young and old alike.
Practical informations
Open every day during the Vaud school holidays in February, Easter, and fall.
RESERVATIONS
You can book a guided tour, an activity, a room, or organize a custom event.
ACCESS
On foot, from the Sentier de la Truite trail, which runs from Morges to St-Prex.
By bus 702 stop Les Saux, then a 10-minute walk.
Free parking 100m away, please report to reception.
The entire center is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
