La Rambertia, alpine botanical garden

From 01 Jun To 30 Sep 2026

La Rambertia is located at more than 2000m high. This botanical garden protects and cultivates almost 1000 alpine flowers.

La Rambertia botanical gardens are situated between two rocky outcrops at the top of Les Rochers-de-Naye (2,045 m) on a steep slope of 400 m2 overlooking the valley.

La Rambertia protects and cultivates almost 1,000 alpine species including two sorts of edelweiss and 600 local varieties.

Growing plants at such a high altitude is a constant challenge. If snow allows, La Rambertia gardens are open from June to mid-October and are easy to get to on the Montreux to Rochers-de-Naye train with its spectacular views.

Founded in 1896, La Rambertia is a tribute to Eugène Rambert (1830-1886), historian, teacher, story-teller and poet, who wrote “Les Alpes suisses”, published in 5 volumes, comprising scientific observations but also historical stories, musings and poetry.
