Leysin Museum

From 01 Jan To 31 Dec 2026

What was life like back in the 18th Century ? The Museum of Leysin tells the story and retraces history of life in a chalet.

In the Museum of Leysin, passionate historians have recreated a traditional 18th century alpine chalet. In a series of tiny rooms, discover more than a thousand objects from daily life used by Leysin locals. Furniture, kitchen equipment, games but so much more besides – posters and press cuttings featuring articles on the resort right up to the present day.

Both children and adults can easily imagine what life used to be like. Some things have clearly changed over the years and others no longer exist. It can be quite puzzling to try and understand or even guess at what certain items used to be used for ! It’s a journey through time in one of the oldest chalets in the village.
