Le coq et la sirène

From 26 Feb To 10 May 2026

Le coq et la sirène, Works by Jean Lurçat: the new exhibition at Nyon Castle

From 27 February to 10 May 2026, discover the exhibition Le coq et la sirène (The Rooster and the Mermaid), which invites you to immerse yourself in the rich universe of Jean Lurçat. Through lithographs, ceramics and tapestries, the artist's emblematic works display a visual poetry rich in colour and symbolic resonance.
This exhibition reflects Jean Lurçat's close relationship with the Lake Geneva region. From his first stays in Chexbres and Lausanne in 1912 to his decisive role in the creation of the International Centre for Ancient and Modern Tapestry (CITAM) and the Lausanne Biennials, Switzerland occupies a central place in his career.
