Ormont Museum

From 01 Jan To 31 Dec 2026

Immerse yourself in the cultural heritage of the Ormonts Valley

Stretching from Aigle to the foot of the Diablerets massif, the Ormonts Valley is a region with a magnificent heritage and rich traditions.
In order to preserve and share this heritage with the public, the museum regularly organises temporary exhibitions revealing new facets of the valley: the history of winter sports, a journey through old photographs, the secrets of the Bitter des Diablerets drink, an exploration of legends about the devil and 100 years of the regional train, and much more.
Thanks to lively and entertaining exhibitions, everyone leaves with the impression of having uncovered one of the secrets of the Vaud Alps.
The Musée des Ormonts is located in the hamlet of Vers-l'Eglise, very close to Les Diablerets and right next to the station, offering several ways to reach it from anywhere in the valley.

Current exhibition: ‘AVALanche’
To mark the 40th anniversary of a series of major avalanches in Les Ormonts, the museum is presenting a new exhibition exploring the theme of snow and avalanches. From the formation of snowflakes to the stories of local survivors, via the mechanisms of snow, come and discover how these dangerous events, which are an unchanging part of mountain life, are formed and triggered.
