Pierredar Refuge

Pierredar Refuge

From 18 Jun To 19 Sep 2026

A refuge nestled on a plateau at 2,298 metres, in the heart of the Diablerets massif

The Pierredar refuge is nestled in the heart of a plateau rich in exceptional flora, halfway between the bottom of the Vallée des Ormonts and the summit of Les Diablerets (3,210 m). This small, authentic hut is built against a rock face that protects it from avalanches and has a kitchen/living room area and a dormitory that can accommodate 20 people. Toilets are also available a few metres away. From the terrace, in good weather, there is a breathtaking view of the valley, Lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains, including the Vaud Pre-Alps and the peaks of the Chablais. The plateau is also overlooked by the Diablerets massif and the Scex Rouge, where the Glacier3000 footbridge (Peak Walk by Tissot) is located.

Guarded from mid-June to mid-September by members of the Pierredar Club, the refuge is accessible via several routes from Les Diablerets or the Col du Pillon. From the village, allow around 5 hours via the Prapio trail; from the pass or the village, the paths join the Drudy section – a vertiginous alpine passage – which joins the Prapio trail before taking you across the torrent, the scree slopes and the last flat sections before arrival. Access to the Dames Anglaises via ferrata is at the rear of the refuge, after a short approach walk: the wardens will be able to provide information to climbers on the opening and condition of the route, which is checked at the beginning of summer when conditions are optimal.

The hut is not accessible during winter.
