Cultural walk to discover the town of Morges
Discover the cultural highlights in the heart of Morges town centre
The beautiful town of Morges is perfect for a stroll, following Rue Louis-de-Savoie and the famous Grand-Rue.
Along the way, you can stop off at Morges’ many cultural attractions, such as the Alexis Forel Museum, the Bolle Museum and Morges Castle.
This short 1.5 km loop starts in front of the castle and allows you to explore the beautiful old town of Morges.
- From Morges Castle, take Rue Louis-de-Savoie.
- The Galerie Aubry at number 86 has a fantastic collection of antique engravings. This shop is well worth a visit!
- At number 73 is the Bolle Museum, which hosts a variety of exhibitions but reserves a special place for Morges’s favourite, Audrey Hepburn.
- Still on the same street, at number 80, the Midnight Sun/Soleil de M’lnuit gallery offers Inuit art and high-quality exhibitions.
- Just before the Casino, on the right, the Maison du Dessin de Presse hosts temporary exhibitions linked to current affairs.
- The extraordinary Mise en Scène gallery is at number 21, featuring photographs by various artists.
- We then return via the Grand-Rue, passing the Forel Museum at number 54. Inside the courtyard, you’ll discover this fantastic Morgian house and its various exhibitions.
- The Alambic lounge bar at number 73 showcases modern and large-format works.
- Espace 81, on the left, hosts temporary exhibitions relating to life in Morges.
- In the Passage de la Couronne, the Linea gallery showcases highly innovative works.
- On Rue des Fossés, just behind, if you’re lucky, the Art Loft gallery will be open...
Don’t forget the Château and its various collections: the Vaud Gendarmerie Museum, the exhibition of historical figurines, the Paderewski Museum and the room dedicated to the Foreign Service.
Morges’ beautiful buildings, diverse shops and charming restaurants, tea rooms and chocolate shops are also well worth discovering during this pleasant stroll.
