Morges and its region

Nicknamed “The Flower of Lake Geneva”, Morges is famous for its flower-decked quays and its castle which proudly rises opposite Mont Blanc. The abundant countryside offers a variety of natural and gourmet treasures.

The power of attraction of the beautifully landscaped shores of this lakeside town is beyond doubt. Still, its old town, large pedestrian streets and charming alleys are just as attractive. How pleasant it is to take a stroll to explore them on market days!

A dream stay in the Vaud region

The fortress overlooking the harbour of Morges recalls the region’s medieval past. Its venerable walls now house no less than five museums. Just a few miles away, the Château de Vuillerens has something of a “little Versailles”, attracting visitors with its spectacular gardens.

The two popular events, the Tulip Festival and the “Books on the Lakeside Promenades” draw high attendance and add to the town’s attraction far beyond its borders. Maison de la Rivière, which is dedicated to aquatic life, and Ile aux Oiseaux offer a haven of peace to nature lovers. Above Morges, the Arboretum in the valley of the river Aubonne brings together an astonishing diversity of plants and trees from all over the world, offering an enchanting setting for family walks.

The tranquillity and authenticity of Morges, combined with a little dash of madness, has not only won over the local population and tourists but also celebrities such as actress Audrey Hepburn, who lived in the area for more than 20 years.
