A dream stay in the Vaud region

The Pays-d’Enhaut comprises three typical mountain villages, each of which has preserved its own identity.

Thanks to its microclimate, which is ideal for hot-air balloon flying, Château d’Oex has become the capital of that activity, hosting the International Hot-Air Balloon Festival each winter. The village of Rossinière features remarkably carved wooden chalets, a real invitation to travel back in time. Ranking among Switzerland’s most beautiful villages, Rougemont attracts visitors by its charm of yesteryear, its 16th century castle and Romanesque church featuring exceptional stained-glass windows.

The region also has a unique shared heritage. The art of paper cutouts is a secular tradition that is still practiced in Pays-d’Enhaut today, just like the manufacture of the famous L’Etivaz Alpine cheese. The region’s picturesque villages and breathtaking scenery offer a majestic backdrop for hiking, hot-air balloon flights, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. In winter, the frozen lake of Vernex holds the promise of an unforgettable magical outing.

Preserved, accessible and gourmet: Pays-d’Enhaut leaves you with the impression of an unexplored region combined with the warmth of a personalised welcome.
