The Astropléiades trail

From 01 May To 31 Oct 2026

Get a little closer to the stars on the Astropléiades educational trail. An introduction to astronomy for all the family in the hills above Vevey!

The Astropléiades Trail, in the Pléiades pre-alps (1,348 m), uses the views of Lake Geneva and Le Grammont to teach you all about the Earth and the stars.

For children, adults and specialists, the four stages of this 1 ½ hour trail explore our observations from Earth, the solar system, the stars and the Milky Way, our galaxy. Plus, the name “Pleiades” is a reference to a star cluster in the constellation of Taurus.

The patron of this trail is Claude Nicollier, the first Swiss astronaut, who has flown on four space shuttle missions and who is now a professor of Spatial Technology at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

The Star Train, a cogwheel train departing from Vevey, gets you to the Astropléiades Trail in 40 minutes.
