Temporary exhibition Top Secret - Espionage and Resistance in Switzerland and Europe 1939-1945
During World War II, Switzerland, a small country completely surrounded by the Axis powers, reaffirmed its neutrality in accordance with international law. But what did this neutrality actually entail? To what extent did the country serve as a base of operations for Allied spies and resistance movements? What role did Switzerland play in this secret war, the scope of which was considerable? The answers to these questions, and much more, will soon be revealed in the new temporary exhibition at the Château de Morges and its museums. With over 500 previously unseen documents and objects, TOP SECRET will lift the veil on a little-known facet of our history: the complex links between the Swiss intelligence services, the Allied secret services, and the resistance movements across Europe.
From November 14, the Château de Morges invites you to immerse yourself in this shadow war, with its encrypted transmissions, secret agents, escape routes, and clandestine operations. Discover the birth of modern intelligence services, the strategic importance of Switzerland during World War II, and, already in the background, the beginnings of the Cold War.
